T-Mobile Is The First U.S. Carrier To Sell Samsung Galaxy Tablet
Wednesday, T-Mobile became the first U.S. carrier to start selling Samsung’s Galaxy Tab. The Galaxy Tab is expected to be the only major rival to the iPad until other major computer makers start releasing products and marks a jump into the tablet market for the Android operating system. Just like the iPad created great opportunities for mobile applications in the larger format, the Galaxy will create similar opportunities for forward thinking businesses to capitalize on mobile applications for Android.
The Galaxy runs Google’s Android 2.2 operating system and has a 7-inch diagonal touch screen, which is 2.7 inches smaller than the iPad. Third-party apps are available for download through the Android Market. Tablets are at great way for businesses to improve efficiency or market themselves with custom mobile applications. Custom applications for tablets and mobile devices are much more affordable than most people think and are rapidly becoming the marketing method of choice for savvy marketers.
